Last year we saw a wonderful series from the distinguished director (Hansal Mehta) titled #Scam1992, which was a biography of Harshad Mehta, a stockbroker who was behind the largest manipulation in the money and banking market in the history of India, and in the same time period the movie #TheBigBull starring Abhishek was filmed Bachchan and produced by Ajay Devgn about the same character and incident!! The series received great admiration from the Indian audience, and it spread widely because of the excellent directing and striking acting of Prateik Gandhi. So logically, people would compare the series and this movie, and certainly this thing put pressure on the filmmakers, but what was the level of the film?
I won't compare the two works a lot because each director presented the film with his own artistic perspective.. But this movie for me was good to very good and nothing more! Harshad Mehta's story is full of many details, including ups and downs, and many things that are difficult to cover in two and a half hours. the story! On the other hand, I was impressed by what Abhishek Bachchan did in the movie, he is present in almost every scene in the movie and gave a very good and balanced performance without any pretension, charisma and heavy personality! It kind of reminded me of his performance in Guru but what a copy and paste it was.
The narration was good, some dramatic moments were beautiful, the soundtrack was good, the montage was unfortunately weak and was not successful at all, the cast, despite the presence of big names, their influence is missing! Only Abhishek and Sohum Shah were good and attractive.. The ending is nice and better than I expected.. In the end the movie is average but not bad, I think if the director and writer had more experience, the movie would have turned out great because the story is interesting but you will feel a lack of the final touch and refinement of the movie However, it is worth watching because of the shocking true story and Abhishek's performance, and if you want to know the story in more detail I recommend watching the wonderful Scam 1992.
