REVIEW :- Mimi is a movie that you can watch if you need something different or you are bored with western movies like that. This film invites us to explore the situation of the Surrogate Mother practice that is rampant in India and of course it is an opportunity to earn an 'additional' income for the middle class in India. Although Mimi does not highlight poverty directly, but highlights Mimi's steps that make this opportunity a 'shortcut' to achieve her dream of success in Bollywood.
In addition to the premise that is quite different from the others, this film has a good comedy power. I always like this film to put the funny and sad aspects, and sometimes, the two funny and sad aspects come together which makes us confused whether this should be sad or laughing, like laughing at life. Moreover, the casts in this film are quite flexible: Kriti Sanon as Mimi and Pankaj Tripathi as Bhanu which I think is very crucial in this film.
As an Indian or Hindi film, Mimi certainly still has Bollywood DNA. Such as musical scenes, soundtracks that are tucked in between the scenes in the film, and also drama scenes that feel like soap operas as the film progresses which gradually become like dragging. Even so, we are paid for with good character development, and also a fairly fair ending and has a message to convey.
